Why giving matters

St Mary’s receives no automatic state funding simply because it is historic. Regular parish income supports worship, ministry, insurance, utilities, mission and the continuing care of a Grade I listed building.

Church of England guidance encourages regular giving, one-off gifts and Gift Aid where eligible. Gift Aid allows a charity to reclaim tax on qualifying donations from UK taxpayers.

Regular giving

A regular gift gives the parish dependable income for worship, mission and building care.

One-off gifts

One-off donations can support general church life or a clearly identified appeal.

Gift Aid

If you are an eligible UK taxpayer, Gift Aid can increase the value of your donation at no extra cost to you.
